how do i convert upper case to lower case text

I have a keyboard problem with my laptop I type in Upper case, press caps lock to revert to lower case but the text remains caps locked..

Like wise I type in lower, need to use upper for addressing etc but then upper doesn't always kick in..

I/m getting a new keyboard but it will take 3 weeks to reach me.. Is there a way to select all text and tell it to change case, so i don't have to retype and recapitalize text ?
