Let's start with; Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

Then it's unlikely to be Firefox doing this.

Start your Computer in safe mode with network support. Then start Firefox. Try Secure websites. Is the problem still there?

I have heard of certain apps causing this problem, like a certain version of AVG Antivirus, Aero Peek and DNS Updater. Go into the Windows Settings --> Apps and uninstall every questionable app listed.

Make sure that your OS and installed software packages are all up-to-date. Finally, make sure the Windows button on your keyboard is not sticking as certain combinations (Win+M for example) can minimize all windows.

If all else fails, try to pause your anti-virus software as many of them try to integrate with the browser or otherwise screen Internet data that is coming in. (temporarily disable your Kaspersky browser plugin) You may even try to switch to a new antivirus because it is possible that some type of malware is causing this problem. Run malwarebytes.com as a stand-alone and check for PUPs and malware.

As a last resort I would reinstall Kaspersky and disable the web screening functions. Typically, we don't need antivirus programs hijacking our browsers and Internet connection.
