I want to change my account email to the one I use for Thunderbird by adding it - Firefox tells me that account already exists.

I want to close down the email address that I use for Firefox and use the one that I use for Thunderbird. I have treid to add this address as a second one (to my Firefox account) but all get is that this address already exists.

I am using a PC with Windows 10 (well two actually) with synced accounts on an iPhone and an iPad.

If you are getting that message, you likely already have a Firefox account under that email address. To add that email address to your current account as a secondary email address, you will just need to delete the account that is currently under that email address.

Just sign in to the Firefox accounts page under the email address that you want to use (the one that you use for Thunderbird). If you don't know the password, you can request a reset. Once you login to that account, just delete it. Then you should be able to sign back into your existing account and add that email address as a secondary one.

Hope this helps.

Thunderbird itself is a email client so there is no Thunderbird Account like the Firefox Account you can use with the Firefox web browser.
