I am trying to communicate with a hotel in Mexico. They send me emails, but when I reply I get an error message. This is the mail system at host gateway9.unifiedlayer.com.

I'm sorry to have to inform you that your message could not be delivered to one or more recipients. It's attached below.

For further assistance, please send mail to postmaster.

If you do so, please include this problem report. You can delete your own text from the attached returned message.

But if I email the hotel from a gmail account it works fine, so I don't think it is there server problem.

Your messages might be rejected because they are sent on a non-secure port, 25 or 587. What are your settings for the smtp server that the rejected account is sending through? Tools/Account Settings, Outgoing Server (SMTP) in the lower left pane.

If your mail provider doesn't offer secure smtp, it's possible to send from a non-gmail account, on the secure gmail smtp, so that recipients still see the sender as the non-gmail account.
