I have a LOT of extensions, that need sorting out due to possible clashes... febe at http://softwarebychuck.com/ was the normal way to save very extension, including many other things!

I seem to have problems with clashing addons, and need a way to restart fresh, without spending DAYS finding , loading and testing each one, whithout causing a mess..

Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles {web link} I use an add-on that makes backups of my user profile, Just In Case. Unfortunately, it is not compatible with the current Firefox.

Every now and then, open the profile folder and create a copy of the current profile as is to another location on your hard drive. This way you will have a backup.

If you do this each day, you will not lose much data. This should be done with Firefox Closed.

Note: In case you need to restore from these backups, you may need to overwrite old or corrupted files.

A problem with backing up extensions is backing up the extension's data as well as this data is currently stored in indexedDB using a UUID that is stored as a pref in prefs.js (about:config -> extensions.webextensions.uuids).

If you back up your profile, you will have to restore it at some time, and LOSE all stuff that happened meanwhile.. bookmarks, links, add on updates and their settings, and if FF has upgraded during that time, more compatibility problems...

FEBE did all this for you, separating out all from addons to setting to passwords, so you can **individually install just a tiny part..

FEBE is one of the main reasons I never updated to Quantum.
