I manage Firefox using the GPO policy templates on roughly 300 Windows 10 machines. I have AppAutoUpdate enabled, but Firefox appears to only apply the update if/when the application is launched. Is there a way to have the updates applied in the background without the application being launched?

Not at this time. We're working on a background updater for Firefox.
