Today when I click to download a PDF, the window that lets me choose save or open does not come up and I don't get the file.

I see it's something you have purposely changed in how downloads are done. It's a big pain.

Yes, it is. Do you want to open the files or save them to a different location?

I want to open the files. I don't want to save them most the time. So now I have go go back and delete them.

Version 98 changed our Settings under Applications on the General page. I think I had to change every one of mine back to what I want. There are ways to change the download destination, one of which is in the link below (note: remove the blank space). I do not believe Mozilla will reverse any of its changes so if you go back to a previous version you will be stuck with it. I have also linked a thread with a temporary workaround.
