Google is the default for basically everything, and its also most used search engine. Also, you can change your search engine. If you TRULY want it gone, that would need Nightly.

You do not need to use the Nightly version of Firefox for Android to change your default search provider.

It does appear that you ae using a version of Firefox for Android that is no longer supported.
