Just updated to ver: 101.0, all addons and bookmarks are GONE!

Hi Folks,

I just updated to version 101.0 because I was constantly getting prompts to download the latest version of Firefox... so I did. Installed it. Super. Great. Now ALL of my addons and bookmarks are nowhere to be found! It's a 'blank browser.' It *did* prompt me to import bookmarks from another browser; I assumed that meant *in addition to* my already existing Firefox bookmarks. Nope. The only bookmarks I have are the ones I imported from Chrome. And no add-ons. No password manager. No Ant downloader. No adblock. Nothing. All just gone.

How can I put all this back in place? Failing that, how do I roll back from this "new and improved" version back to my old one?

And why did Firefox see fit to totally trash my existing install settings and bookmarks and addons when it upgraded? Just swept it off the table and glommed this new thing in its place. Not appreciated. Most grateful for any help here!

Hi kharrisma, See if your "old" Profile is still there. You can recover the data easily. See:

Thanks for the reply, but no good... any profiles I can locate anywhere on my drive are all dated yesterday, when the upgrade happened. Can't find a single one that has an earlier date. I did find a folder from an earlier install that said 'profiles,' but that folder is empty.

about:profiles does list two profiles; the current one with everything gone, and another one that has my old bookmarks in it (which I made the default profile), but all my add-ons are still gone. Some were fairly old versions that have since been changed (ant downloader, for example... the new version caps the number of downloads you can make each day, unless you want to pay for premium... not interested in the 'new and improved' version, because it's not improved, it's crippled. Thanks for *that,* Firefox!)

Any ideas on how to get my old add-ons restored? Thanks!

If you made your "old" Profile the default, your extensions should still be there. Look in Menu -> Addons and Themes and see if they just need to be enabled.

Otherwise, you'll nee to reinstall them. You can get older versions from Firefox Add-ons:
