I am trying to add the following add-on: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865/

I have the latest Firefox (3.6.4) but addons.mozilla.org keeps saying I am running an old version of Firefox (You are currently using Firefox 2.0.0.13;MEGAUPLOAD).

Because it had Megaupload in that line I checked my old add-ons and I had an old (DISABLED) Megaupload toolbar. I have uninstalled this but the symptoms have not changed.

I have also noticed that on Youtube it is always saying that my browser is no longer supported, but until today I thought it was just a youtube glitch.

This happened

Every time Firefox opened

== I think it was after last major Firefox upgrade (that's when I noticed the Youtube error)

Chosen solution

Your user agent shows Firefox/2.0.0.13;MEGAUPLOAD 1.0

You have or had an extension installed (MegaUpload toolbar) that has changed the user agent from Firefox/3.6.4 to Firefox/2.0.0.13

You can see the Firefox version at the top and the user agent at bottom of the "Help > About" window (Mac: Firefox > About Mozilla Firefox). You check (compare) what websites see: http://whatsmyuseragent.com/ - Whats My User Agent?

You can check the general.useragent prefs on the about:config page. You can open the about:config page via the location bar, just like you open a website. Filter: general.useragent If general.useragent prefs are bold (user set) then you can right-click that pref and choose Reset.
