How to remove auto-spelling...... ?????

1. From Options-General-Browsing-Check my spelling as I type: "UN-CHECKED" 2. From about:config, than layout.spellcheckDefault, integer = 0

But when Firefox re-started, spelling option "was back" CHECKED again...... and....... layout.spellcheckDefault, integer = (back to) 1

Please help.......... (FF 3.6.11/Win 7 32bit)

@TonyE: thanks for reply... I've try to delete all prefs.js --- and back to standard pref setting. But still, can't disable spell-check.

@cor-el: thanks also... I use standard theme, not so 'big fan' of skin anyway :) --- in "safe mode" also can't disable spell-check.

Only spell-check which can not save (after re-start) on FF preference, other options are working as they should be.
