Why am I being redirected to generic sites instead of the site I clicked on?
When I google something or click on a bookmark, Firefox starts to take me to the site then suddenly says "redirecting" and goes to a totally different site, usually some generic list of websites, totally unrelated to what I wanted. Also keeps opening a new tab saying I have won a Walmart gift card for $1000.

Do a malware check with a few malware scan programs.
You need to use all programs because each detects different malware.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of the database before doing a scan.

Thanks, Cor-el. I installed them but one of them is making my computer crash. I had to remove them. Plus, I was still getting the walmart fake contest even after I installed them. Hmm.
