Running Windows Vista & Firefox firewall is on (not Windows Defender). Windows Defender is out of date but cannot update. Last Windows update was 1-19-11. Webroot support has tried to resolve problems twice unsuccessfully.

Firefox does NOT have a firewall.

When did this issue first appear; after what happened?

Microsoft INSISTS that you use IE to get windows updates, not a FF issue.

You could have an infection on your PC.

Your firewall settings could be blocking the sites.

Check your security software settings, you may be blocking at that level, firewall and FF add-ons.

FF settings: Tools, Options, Privacy Tab, Exception Button, add "www.yourweb address" and click Allow Button, ALSO check for any BLOCK settings. Click close button, ok button and Test the results.

Thanks will try these suggestions. My error, I should have ID'd the firewall as Webroot (not Firefox).
