Downloaded upgrade to FF 4. Starts up fine but with blank tab for opening page. Reset homepage to my homepage (made sure that it was chosen in the options/general. Restarted FF. Still just a blank page. Tried customizing by showing menus. Restart. No menus, no home page. Opened second tab and went to Yahoo. Chose a story. Could not go back to Yahoo home page because back button inoperative.

Have reverted to FF 3.6.16, but would like to use FF 4 if possible.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile

If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)
