Regards Firefox 3.616. When I type a url in the address bar without www prefix it loads correctly. When I type the url with www it loads an older version of the same site...? Note that this is only happening for the one site. Using Firefox 3.0.19 displays the new version of the site for both urls.

Is it possible you have inadvertently blocked the site from redirecting? There is a preference here that might be relevant:

Tools > Options > Advanced, General tab, "Warn me when sites try to redirect"

(If it's a site that anyone can access, you could post the URL for others to check out.)

You may have that older www version still in the cache.

Reload that web page and bypass the cache.

  • Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
  • Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
