Show All Bookmarks does not appear in the Bookmark menu. Found a reference to <ctrl><shfit>B, and it opens the Library, but I'd like the Menu Item back.

Just installed Foxfire. I thought I saw "Show all..." in my initial nosing around, but not 100% sure. Was trying to import Google Chrome bookmarks and instruction go through the Library view to load them.

You can find toolbar buttons to open the bookmarks (star) and the history (clock) in the sidebar in the toolbar palette and drag them on a toolbar.
Firefox 4 has two bookmark buttons with a star in the Customize window.
One star button has a drop marker that open a Bookmark menu.
The other star button without the drop marker opens the bookmarks in the sidebar.

Open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout"

You are correct on what you saw and should see

  • Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks

and I usually prefer the keyboard shortcut myself Ctrl+Shift+B

Or from "Firefox" button (second column) > Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks

Changed from "Organize Bookmarks" to less correct "Show All Bookmarks" and they're thinking of changing it again.

No ideal why you would lose it. I don't think the "Customize Menu" extension even touches the Bookmarks toolbar.

You can make Firefox 4.0.1 and Firefox 5.0 look like Firefox 3.6.17, see numbered items 1-10 in the following topic Fix Firefox 4.0 toolbar user interface, problems (Make Firefox 4.0 look like 3.6)

I have Firefox 5. There is no Firefox button. (Because I'm running XP?) I can click on the Bookmarks icon and see "Bookmarks Menu" in the Bookmarks panel. Your response sounds like I'm completely in the wrong place and can't get to where I need to be. Maybe my problem is the missing Firefox button!

Thanks for the help, Gene

The orange Firefox menu button is hidden by default on Windows XP.
You see the orange (on Linux gray) Firefox button if the Menu Bar is hidden, so you need to hide the Menu bar via View > Toolbars, also accessible via Firefox > Options.

Press F10 or tap the Alt key to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily if the menu bar is hidden and you need access to it.

Thanks! That's exactly what I needed. I had also overlooked the Bookmarks entry in the menu bar, thinking that the Bookmark icon was all there was. I feel like I called the Maytag repairman and he plugged in my washing machine for me.
