On 6/29 Firefox asked me to update, so I did . On 6/30 Adobe asked me to update, I did. Ever since then, when I go to open Firefox, I am asked, 'will you allow Firefox to make changes to you hard drive ?' I have to say yes or I cannot get on Firefox. Also, when I am on a webpage it sometimes freezes. I did get a response to check properties, compatibility and everything is unchecked. Then to check firefox.exe properties. What I am I to check for. Maybe my plugins or my extensions. I don't know a lot about computers and any advice will be helpful. PS had to get a new e-mail, password mix up. Thank you to anyone who has offered advice and to those who can help me out. Jana

Check that you do not run Firefox as Administrator.

Right-click the Firefox desktop shortcut and choose "Properties".

Make sure that all items are deselected in the "Compatibility" tab of the Properties window.

  • Privilege Level: "Run this program as Administrator" should not be selected
  • "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" should not be selected

Also check the Properties of the firefox.exe program in the Firefox program directory.
