I have an application for a POS (Point Of Sale) and I want to print directly to printer. Here in my country (Dominican Republic) is often used a dot matrix printer, so the quality is not so good all the time, and with Windows Application we send Esc Epson commands directly to Printer to change fonts. Using IE it is possible using an ActiveX. How to do the same using FireFox????

What are you doing, creating your own add on for firefox ?

Why is a POS application using Firefox ? (firefox is a web browser)

Presumably if you can install your dot matrix printer as the default Windows XP printer, then firefox will attempt to use that printer.

Firefox doesn't use ActiveX.

I know it, that is why I asked about a solution for direct printing from web.

My POSA (Point Of Sale Application) run over the web using RIA (Rich Internet Applications) solutions like ExtJS. So the users enter information directly using web browser, not only FF, may be IE, Chrome, Safari and/or Opera. And the administration of POSA is over the web too, but in the case of administration use other kind of printers. POSA use printers like Star 200, Star 5xx, Epson, Bixolon and so on, all they are dot matrix printer and the quality of printing is not the same like thermal printers, so in this case I use to change fonts when I print in POSA for Windows.
