when I right-click a link to open in another tab, the new tab opens not in the original window but in the first Firefox window of the session. I deleted sessionstore.js from the profile and restarted Firefox but that did not help

Sounds like this bug:

  • bug 644729 - Popup window with all toolbars visible causes new tabs to open in another browser window

OK, I read the bug thread and I'm not the first one to notice this (didn't expect to be) but is there a solution?
