I am trying to download Mozilla FireFox. I do not get the box shown in sample - just a strip at the bottom of the page asking me if I want mirror.internode.on.net to run firefox 6.0. I say "yes" and it appears to be doing it but never finishes and nothing happens.

That is one of the download mirrors around the globe that Mozilla uses for server load balancing (Australia: Internode Systems).

Try not to run the file, but save the file to the desktop and start the installation with a double-click on that icon.
