I am wondering if "Safe Mode" only refers to the Firefox browser stability and operation, AND/OR it means it is also a more "Secure Mode" for "Internet Banking" (i.e. more safe to stop hackers etc from finding out personal details of one's bank account etc.)?

Nope, it is a troubleshooting / maintenance mode. Nothing to do with security.
