I have a imac version 10.6.8. When updating to firefox 7, i keep getting a window that says "operation cannot be completed because you dont have permission to modify firefox" everytime i try to drag the icon into the applications folder. First it asks if i want to replace my older version then it asks for my password then i get the window and cant go on.

Sometimes the file and directory permissions for the Firefox installation are changed by Mac OS. The simplest way to solve this is to download the latest version of Firefox, move the existing install to the trash, empty the trash, and install the version you just downloaded which will fix the permissions.
