I just downloaded firefox 7.0.1 and when I try to open it I get a firefox.exe - application error stating "instruction at 0x1000863c referenced memory at 0x1000863c. The memory could not be read." The application never opens. what can I do?

As stated above I get an error message when I try to open Firefox. The options given in the message are "click OK to terminate program" or "click CANCEL to deug program".

What anti-virus/firewall/etc do you run?

I use CA Security Center.

No I can't even open the Profile Manager, it gives me the same error message.

I have now downloaded an older version of firefox and it seems to be working as long as I don't use the google homepage or search.

I am guessing that my computer is just to old to support the 7.0.1 version.
