Passwords not being added to saved list
I'm unable to get Firefox to remember a password, even though the "remember passwords for sites" box is checked. It is a banking site that I have several accounts with and the other accounts are in the saved list. I have even gone into the account and changed the password. A screen came up and asked which account I was changing, but this account was not on the list in order to mark it as changed.

Upgrade your browser to Firefox 8 and check
I'm already running 8.0.1. Another other suggestions?
Talk to the IT folks at the bank. Many financial sites do not allow you to save member id and password. A security issue.
I don't think the problem is with the bank. It's actually a credit union and as I said before I have several accounts with them. I even recently set up a new one and Mozilla/Firefox asked if it should remember the password for the new account. No problem there. It's one of the accounts I set up about six months ago that I'm having issues with. It's also the account that I thought by going in and changing the password for it it might learn the new one - it didn't. I may see if I can't change the entire log-in ID and password to see if that might spur Firefox into action.
As a follow-up, I did go in and change both the username and password a couple times, but Firefox did not ask to remember the password. It is still not showing up when I attempt to log in. I also contacted the credit union's IT department and they were somewhat surprised that Firefox even remembered any of the usernames since it is a banking institution and therefore not recommended that I have it fill in automatically. I'm now back to square one.
