My pointer does not work most of the time. I can not open tabs at the top or sides of a page. I can not always type in a window, although I was able to type this message. When I go to a search window to type the bar does not show up. When I go to a tab the arrow does not change into a hand that allows me to open a tab.

That problem can be caused by the Yahoo! Toolbar or the Babylon extension that extents too much downwards and covers the top part of the browser window and thus makes links and buttons in that part of the screen not clickable.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
