Norton
Okay, Firefox 9 broke the security features of ZoneAlarm Browser Protection. Now, Firefox 10 broke the security features of Norton. Is it so hard to make each release somewhat compatible with the security software that is available? I can't keep affording to get new security software because you come out with a major release every month. And, the latest browser that worked for all of them was 8.0.1 and it is no longer able to be downloaded??? Firefox is beginning to be an irritation more than a help. Any help you can give to the security software manufacturers on keeping their product ready for such frequent releases of Firefox would really help. Firefox' claim to popularity was customization AND security, but that is all being broken monthly. By the time anyone catches up to one release, you have released two more.

Symantec always waits until the day we release to release the update to their product. You'll have to update norton (not just your virus definitions) and it'll work. They do get weeks of prior warning and we actually work closely with their dev team but they've always waited until the same day as we ship to ship updates so most users have a day or two of breakage.

I would love to upgrade the Norton Toolbar to 2011.7.5.2, but the problem is, Norton Security Suite's LiveUpdate won't upgrade to version 5.2, no matter how many times I run it! I followed the link here:
...but no success in running LiveUpdate! Can someone tell me what's wrong with Comcast Norton Security Suite?! I'm still on Firefox 9 and I have NSS version 5.1, but should I upgrade Firefox to version 10 BEFORE running LiveUpdate for the patch?
Deborah82,
That Norton update page you linked is for Norton 360, not for the Comcast version of the Norton Security Suite. See Comcast about the update for their version, and I'm fairly sure you will need Firefox 10.0 installed to be able to install the Comcast / Norton update.
