Logging on to my bank account I get a pop-up offering the download of Rapport security software. I have this already loaded on my system & pop-ups blocked!

When logging on to my bank account I get a pop-up offering download of Rapport security software. This is annoying in that I have this already loaded on my system & pop-ups blocked. Bank support said that there should be a feature in firefox to regulate the "harshness" of blocking.

There are details on the settings for Firefox blocker here: Pop-up blocker settings, exceptions and troubleshooting.

You might want to have a look at this add-on to extend the functionality: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fire.../adblock-plus-pop-up-addon/

In my experience though these are not strictly 'pop-ups' in the sense normally used. If looks like you can block these messages using one of the following addons:

  • Adblock Plus
  • NoScript

There is some detail on this thread: http://forums.informaction.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=5087 of how to construct the custom rules. It looks like the NoScript rule that works best for HSBC, for example, is:

Site www.hsbc.co.uk/*/light_box* Deny

I hope that helps.
