I can't open items at the top of web pages, tho I can open other items on the page; no probs w/other browsers.

For example, on the web site for my credit union, in the box where I insert my user name, I am not able to is using Firefox, but can do it with other web browsers.

That can be caused by a user-added toolbar like Yahoo Toolbar or Babylon that extends (invisibly) over the top of the web page display area. Start in Firefox safe mode and experiment by turning extensions on/off to find the one.
