I am unable to reset Firefox to use my current version of Quickbooks to open .QBO files. It keeps giving me an error message:

"C:\Users\Randy\AppData\Local\Temp\EXPORT.QBO could not be opened, because the associated helper application does not exist. Change the association in your preferences."

I have set it to use the default Quickbooks application. in Tools, Options, Applications.

I previously had two versions of Quickbooks installed while I was beta testing one and set it to open the non-beta version.

It worked normally then.

I think it is still trying to open a Quickbooks version that does not exist anymore.

Have you tried setting it to "Always Ask" to see whether it lets you store a new setting?

If necessary, you can clear all the Application preferences by renaming a file.

(1) Open your personal settings (AKA Firefox profile) folder

Help > Troubleshooting Information > "Show Folder" button

(2) Switch back to Firefox and exit the program (e.g., Firefox > Exit or File > Exit)

(3) Wait a few moments for Firefox to finish updating files in your settings folder, then rename mimeTypes.rdf to something else, like mimeTypes-bad.rdf or mimeTypes.old. Alternately, you can delete the file.

(4) You're done with your profile folder and you can restart Firefox now.

I had already tried the "Always Ask" option with no success.

The rename mimeTypes.rdf file worked.

Thanks.
