When I installed browser backgrounds, when I open a new tab, I get these images that I don't want. I want to go back to my usual websites when I open a new tab. How do I uninstall this feature that I downloaded?

Chosen solution

This sounds more that you've installed an extension.
The about:newtab page has a 3x3 grid with nine thumbnails and not one (large) background image.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

If it works in Firefox Safe-mode then disable all extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one extension at a time until the problem reappears.

Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

Do you mean the thumbnails on the default about:newtab page?

See this article about the New Tab page (about:newtab):

You can uninstall extensions via Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions

Hi Cor-El,

Yes, except each thumbnail fills the entire page. Each time I click new tab, I get a new image. Somehow, I'm locked in to view the movie browser images. I want to return to my previous most-used websites like hotmail, my bank, etc.

I would like to uninstall this add-on or whatever you call it. I made a mistake in downloading it.

Thanks.

Chris

Hey, thanks a lot! I went to Tools, Add-ons manager, Extensions, found the right one, then disabled it. Restarted my computer and problem solved. Everything is back to normal.
