How do I set FF to automatically add www and .com to URLs?

more options

How can I set FF to automatically add "www" and ".com" or other prefixes and suffixes, when typing URLs in the address bar? FF has done this in the past, although currently, typing a site name (e.g., "amazon") directs me to a google search.

Info: Homepage pref set to google.com; OSX 10.7.4; Firefox v 17.0.1

Yay, thanks for your quick reply! Success.

Note to Mozilla: please add as a preference within FF. It would have saved me 30 min searching / posting online.

For anyone else with this problem: see link (above) > "Turning off Keyword Search" > follow instructions to reset in about: config.

Best!
