I run speakeasy.com-speed test & with Firefox my #'s are: Download.....1.75 to 5.94 & Upload .6- to .82

IE 8.....Download....22.59 & Upload....5.41

WHY?? What settings od I need to change/fix?

I am about ready to go back to IE.....Help!!

Such speed test websites usually use the Flash player.

You can check for problems caused by recent Flash updates and try these:

  • disable a possible RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin extension for Firefox and update the RealPlayer if installed
  • disable protected mode in Flash 11.3 and later
  • disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin

Also make sure that you allow the plugin-container process in the firewall.
