please install the search reset addon - it will revert the most common customizations those adware programs do in firefox back to the default: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/searchreset/

could you go to firefox > help > troubleshooting information, copy the contents of that page and paste them here into a reply on the forum? this might give us a clue what is going on...

Hey Phillip. I got frustrated and I just uninstalled Firefox, went to redownload it and found that the same thing is happening over in my internet explorer. So when I did download firefox again... I made sure not to import anything and the problem seems to have cleared up.

Have you check if you have a viirus? Also try to open on your browser About:config..then search the string "browser.newtab.url"...What do you see?

ok, maybe also run a full scan of your system with different security tools like the free version of malwarebytes and adwcleaner which should catch leftovers of malicious software that was present on your system...

hi sheilahsay, the keyword.url preference won't have any effect in current versions of the browser - however you can right-click and reset that line, then it should be deleted the next time when you restart firefox.

You can check in "Windows Control Panel > Programs" for recently installed programs (sort by "Installed on") to see if anything from Conduit or any other suspicious software shows up.
