Firefox Android RAM Usage

more options

I want(ed) to use Firefox for Android on my phone, but the high RAM usage is discouraging. It uses ~100MB on one Google search page versus Chrome ~60MB. Almost the double. Checked for improvement on it by getting Nightly, but it's not much if any. Is there work on this?

Try with beta version of firefox android.

Are you using any addons?

Tried just now, uses same amount of RAM as Nightly and stable, within margin of error. Without any addons, since that would only add to it. With 1GB RAM there were occasions when Android terminated the music player when opening a laerge imgur album, Chrome did not make it do that. Bottom line is: Firefox uses ~100-110MB where Chrome uses ~60-70MB. Can't use it this way...

I'm using beta 30 with 2 non-heavy tabs open and memory usage is at a whopping 246mb! This is not uncommon. Chrome uses nearly a quarter of this. I have one addon installed, adblock.
