I have recently updated my Kaspersky software from Kaspersky Internet Security to Kaspersky Total Security 2015 at around the time Firefox automatically upgraded from version 35 to 36. I'm not sure if the Kaspersky upgrade has anything to do with the problem, but now the address bar in Firefox does not function. I have 'downgraded' Firefox back to version 35, but still it does not work.

You can add a URL in a search engine window (Firefox or Google) within the Firefox window and that works, as does clicking on any hyperlinks that show up. But the Address bar is totally dead! Also the address bar in my Google browser works OK

I hope someone familiar with Firefox workings knows how to fix this frustrating problem as I prefer Firefox to Google.

Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the quick reply. I did as you suggested (via Customise) and now it is functioning again thank you. Interestingly, I had previously refreshed it, (to set Firefox back to its defaults) but that didn't solve the problem.

Thanks for your help. Regards, Tallboyrip

Unfortunately it has failed again when I started it up today. It is obviously not holding the default settings. At present, I have had to resort to using my Google broswer in place of Firefox. Un-installing it and re-installing does not fix the problem. Short of giving up entirely on Firefox, is there anything else I can try? Thanks for any suggestions. Tallboyrip
