I use the new Firefox (Quantum) ver 57.0.2. This version blocks Garmin Communicator plugin, even its latest version of 4.2.0. Any hope to use them together???

Unfortunately this plugin is not updated for a long while by Garmin, maybe it was back in 2014, when 4.2.0 came out. So no chance to wait for Garmin. I hope that I will be able to use this add-on in Firefox, too, and cannot go back either to version of 56 or to Chrome.

The "stable" releases of Firefox 52 and later do not run any plugins other than Flash. If you did want to run that old Garmin plugin, you would need to switch to the Extended Support Release of Firefox 52, which will be maintained through Spring 2018.
