My windows 10 device does not sync with my Windows 7 device
I recently got a new Windows 10 labtop and want to use Firefox sync to get my bookmarks from my Windows 7 laptop to my Windows 10 laptop. I can see my Windows 10 machine on my Windows 7 machine, but not the other way around. As a result, I think, the syncing does not work. When I tried using the "manage devices" function on the Windows 10 machine, the only option I have is to add mobile devices using a cellphone number. Any ideas how I could solve the sync problem? Thanks

Hi, are you using a proxy or a VPN ?
If behind one of the above try with out.
What security program are you using please ?
There is security software like Avast/AVG, Kaspersky, BitDefender and ESET that intercept secure connections and send their own certificate. Also Mcafee sometimes issues with.
I do use a VPN but am experiencing the syncing problem even when I am not connected to the VPN. I have Sophos antivirus installed on my computer. Thanks!
You can open about:sync-log via the location bar to see if there are recent error logs available. You can upload a recent log if the log is too big to put in a reply. https://pastebin.mozilla.org/ Please change Keep For A Day to Keep For A Month at page bottom.
There was indeed a message in the error log. I've never used the paste bin, but it should be here: https://pastebin.mozilla.org/9090636. Thanks!
Contacting a Supervisor, please know it is going to be looked at and you will be contacted within a day or two.
Thanks!
That sync log is from April 1532699276044
Please login again on the Windows 10 device with the Firefox Sync account on your Firefox browser.
You may need to add an exception to Sophos for Mozilla domains.
This one is labelled as July 27 at 9:48am (https://pastebin.mozilla.org/9090669). Thanks!
Regarding Sophos, I have it installed on both machines, but the Windows 7 machine recognizes the Windows 10 machine, but not viceversa. The Windows 10 machine is only looking for mobile devices connected to a mobile phone number, but not regular computers. That is what I noticed when I tried to use the "manage devices" buttons on both machines.
Note that you can also use a USB stick (jump drive) to transfer data from one device to another device.
@cor-el: Although it does not solve the syncing problem, this is a nice workaround to move my bookmarks. Thanks!
I was using a unix timestamp converter - http://www.onlineconversion.com/unix_time.htm apologies.
