Themes no longer color the folder pane and message pane in Thunderbird V 60.3.0. Can this be changed?

Prior to upgrading to Thunderbird 60.3.0, the themes colored not only the top band and bottom border, but also the folder pane and messages area. Now these "work" panes are totally white w/o and theme coloring. This is not only hard on the eyes but rather ugly (in my subjective opinion). Is there any way to make the theme flow into these areas? Certainly this was the case (for the theme I was then using) prior to v 60. Thanks for your time and trouble. Sorry to cause a problem.

The color of the Message Pane is easy to change by opening Tools/Options/Advanced/General/Config. editor and changing the preference browser.display.background_color to something other than the default white, e.g. #F1F1F1.

The folder pane color can be changed in a userChrome.css file.
