can't click anymore on links in google search results

more options

Since a few days, I can't use google search anymore in Firefox. If I search for something, I will get the normal search results page, with blue links heading all listed search results, but these are not clickable. I have no problem with clicking on links on any other sites. Google and these search results work fine in Safari, my other browser. I prefer Firefox though, so any suggestions on how to fix this? I have cleared the cache already.

Post a sample search link you used and let other try to see if they get the same problem your getting?

Are they "real" links? To double-check that, try right-clicking one and then using:

  • Open Link in New Tab
  • Open Link in New Window

Could you test in Firefox's Safe Mode? In its Safe Mode, Firefox temporarily deactivates extensions, hardware acceleration, and some other advanced features to help you assess whether these are causing the problem.

If Firefox is not running: Hold down the option/alt key when starting Firefox. (On Windows, hold down the Shift key instead of the option/alt key.)

If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > "?" Help button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
  • (menu bar) Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

and OK the restart.

Both scenarios: A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Refresh).

Any improvement?
