How to set downloaded files's date attribute to always be now, not the created datetime on the source http server.

more options

Version 66.0.3 (64-bit) on Windows 10.

It seems that for some downloaded files, Firefox sets the local creation date attribute of the file to whatever the modified (or created) timestamp was on the server, rather than always setting it to 'now'.

Is there a way to change this so that my downloads are always stored with the date creation setting as now?

It seems server dependent.

It's not a new problem, just something that's bugging me and makes finding files in my Downloads directory difficult at times.

Hi Axel21, I don't think I've noticed that in the past.

In File Explorer, do you usually display the "Date modified" column? I notice that Windows sometimes shows a different set of column headings, maybe related to music tracks, and in that case I have to customize the headings to get the usual ones.

If it's not a Windows issue, could you give an example of a server where that happens, assuming no login is required?
