- I could adjust the headers and footers as I wanted.  (Why everyone feels the need to put the information in different places is one of life's unsolved mysteries.)
- If I didn't need to show the time I printed something in minutes and seconds (which I don't think I ever did), I didn't need to show it.
- If I wanted to print say an old e-mail with the footer/header showing the old date, I could do it (without having to change the computer's date and then having to change it back). 
- If I could reduce something to one page but the footer displayed "1 of 2", I could change it to "1 of 1" etc.

I've been searching through other threads about this. You can waste a lot of time trying out various suggestions which don't work until eventually you find a thread which tells you that those suggestions won't work with the latest (97) version. I despair that the previous threads haven't been noted with this rather significant snippet of information. Anyway, I'm another one of the irritated people who would like the old print preview function back. To the people who say the new function is fine/better or why do I want the old one, here are a few reasons:- - I could adjust the headers and footers as I wanted.
