the drop down menus aren't working - appearing briefly when licked on then flickering rapidly and disappearing, so can't select anything. Any ideas what to do?

If I'm on a site which has drop down menus to select from, I'm unable to do so as the list won't stay up - it flickers madly then disappears.

The same thing is happening with form filling - any stored info (usename, address and the like) will flicker whilst I am typing/trying to select, then again disappear.

So I can' t actually select anything from the box below "this happened"

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

  • Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

See:

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

  • Use "Disable all add-ons" on the Safe mode start window to disable all extensions.
  • Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")
