i found a temporary work-a-round. it doesn't solve it but helps not to crash go to Help menu and click on Restart with add-ons disabled. then click yes when you are asked do you want to restart. and then on the next window click on start firefox in safe mode. that helped me with frontierville and also with accessing add-on manager

I was not using Windows Vista, but Windows XP. However, got the same issue. Problem was caused by the AVG Safe Search add-in. Disabling this add-in resolved the issue.
