For a few of the enterprise products I use, the mixed content blocker disables my ability to use these tools. While I understand I can toggle to allow mixed-content -- I would like to be able to whitelist the URLs that I use regularly that I don't want content blocking enabled. Is this possible?

Agree. I've been having trouble with some website displays since this went live and I've just discovered this is the source. Having to re-click the toggle every time I reload the page is a TERRIBLE UI and makes Firefox unusable. I've been a long time user of firefox and really like many of it's features, but if this is rectified soon, I'm going to have to look for a different browser, for some (if not all) websites.

Allowing a white list would quickly and easily solve this problem. I'm aware of the security issues I'm presenting to myself. Keeping that yellow warning trial before the https is a great reminder that my security is at risk.

the content toggle button works but is not really the solution for enterprise products. A white-list would be a real good solution... So I add a my white-list request here too

There is a bug for possibly adding this, if you really want it in firefox, please vote for it.

To completely disable mixed content checking see screen snapshot here: http://plsqlnotes.blogspot.com/2013/09/firefox-disable-mixed-content-blocking.html

Per bug #902156, Firefox 24 will remember your decision to suspend protection on a particular site if you continue browsing the site in the same tab. (Possibly also in new tabs, but I haven't checked.) However, if you navigate away from the site, when you go back, you'll have to click the shield again.

Not as convenient as a whitelist, but hopefully will remove the worse headaches.

about:config -> security.mixed_content.block_active_content -> false

Thanks guys for the responses, I am aware of both...but for some enterprise products hosted on https with http elements -- this is a major headache. Communication to clients about modifying about:config is also unacceptable as it may change their browsing experience outside of the web-based product.

Again, thanks and hopefully I get some whitelisting in!

not able to ping service on client side due to active mixed content - https://localhost:8733/Design_Time_Addresses/WcfServiceLibraryForActiveX/FileUpload/

if i set "about:config -> security.mixed_content.block_active_content -> false " it will be applied for all sites and it is not acceptable , please provide solution so that i can allow active mixed content for site basis.

Hi chandugaurav24, you can submit requests for enhancement for Firefox on Bugzilla, the bug tracking system. You might already find this one if you search, and in that case, you could "vote" for it.

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/

Regarding using that system, see:
