Can not change color of text, although I use Html format

No matter if I create a new message or answer to a mail, I cannot change color of the text, and I don't see any color. But I know that the text has been in different colors. The text is in html format, I can choose colors but it is not changing. I can change to bold or italic and the size, that works as usual, only the color is not working.

I forgot to mention that this problem occured after I installed the add-on Enigmail to encrypt the messages. But I have de-installed it. After this also the look of the add-on page changed, what does not really bother me, but I can see that something has happened...

I thought there used to be an icon on the toolbar, near where you can make text bold on your messages . However, when I looked for it today, it was missing. I DID find a way to change the color of the text. I know this works when you are writing a message.

Hi lite text you want color changed on Go to FORMAT menu tab Go to TEXT COLOR Select color you want your text to be.

I had high hopes for Thunderbird but it can't handle simply text color in an email. Switching email clients.
