Is there a need for a WebM add-ons/extension with Html and Flash player add-on's?

more options

Hi.

I have these two add-ons/extension installed:

1. DivX Plus Web Player HTML5

Is there a reason to also install the WebM add-on/extension? https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/webm-inline-player/?src=api

What would the WebM add-on/extension do?

Thanks.

Firefox has the built-in capability of playing WebM video, no add-ons required. You can test with the embedded video player part of the way down this page (in the "WebM Videos within the HTML5 <Video> Tag" section): http://www.webmfiles.org/demo-files/ Does that work for you?

What that add-ons seems to do is detect a link to a video in a page and insert a player in place of the link. This would save you the trouble of clicking the link, but... how often would this be useful?
