add-ons bar preferences are not saved from session to session
Hi,
Ive installed the "The Addon Bar (restored)" extension. Im trying to customise my add-on bar by adding extensions their after clicking on "customise". Ufortunately, every time I close Firefox and re-open, my extensions disapeer from the the add-on bar. The only one that remains is the evenote webclipper.
Ive done alot of trouble shooting including refreshing(from troubleshooting infomation) and deleting the the contents of pref.js(in profile folder). Neither work, weirdly tho the latter restores some of my extensions but not all
How do I resolove the problem, any help would be greatly appreciated?
Thanks

Note: Some software, like Advanced SystemCare with Surfing Protection, can protect files in the Firefox profile folder against changes. If you have such software then check the settings or uninstall this software.

You may have a corrupt xulstore.json file. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/changes-toolbars-and-window-sizes-are-not-saved
Hi FredMcD
Ive followed all these troubleshooting steps but unfortunately it didn't work. Firefox just seems very stubborn to accept changes.
I've attached xulstore.json and prefs.js . Please could you tell me what is wrong. Im reaally trying hard to convert firefox from chrome, but need everything synced up.
Many Thanks
Edward
Delete the xulstore.json file. You may need to restore what you had before.
You can check for problems with preferences.
Delete possible user.js and numbered prefs-##.js files and rename (or delete) the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default value including prefs set via user.js and prefs that are no longer supported in the current Firefox release.
It is possible that there is a problem with the file(s) that store the extensions registry.
Delete the extensions.* files (e.g. extensions.json, extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry.
New files will be created when required.
See "Corrupt extension files":

If you see disabled or not compatible extensions in "Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the Tools button at the left end of the Search bar to check if there is a compatibility update available.
Hi thanks for your help, i completed all that instructed and then went about reinstalling my plugins. I think i identified "Shareaholic" as the offending addon, because after i installed it, i had the same problems as before. Is there any way to restore firefox to a previous session, incase this happens with a future plugin?
These can't get your data back, but will help in the future.
These add-ons can be a great help by backing up and restoring Firefox
FEBE (Firefox Environment Backup Extension) {web link} FEBE allows you to quickly and easily backup your Firefox extensions, history, passwords, and more. In fact, it goes beyond just backing up -- It will actually rebuild your saved files individually into installable .xpi files. It will also make backup of files that you choose.
