We prefer to have any Facebook link we click open in a new tab because if it opens in the same tab you lose your place in the newsfeed when you try to go back (FBook reloads the whole newsfeed page).

It worked properly for ages. Now it does not.

Firefox 42.0 and 44.0 on MacOS 10.6.8.

Are you just clicking? Some links are programmed to open in new windows. You can override this by using the right click.

yes - we are just clicking. That's the whole point of selecting that tickbox.

Having to command-click or right-click and selecting Open Link in New Tab USUALLY works in F***Book - but not always. They (and all the other annoying "infinite scroll" sites) purposefully do everything they can to keep the feed page reloading so you can never find the post you were reading just a few seconds ago. Allowing one to open a link in a new tab so you can take the time to read it defeats their sites' purpose. F***Book is purposefully trying to keep you in a single tab for whatever nefarious reasons it mat have - probably advertising dollars.

The question is - "click opens link in a new tab" worked yesterday on F***book and it does not today. Still works fine on virtually every other site. Evidently they have deployed code to try to prevent users opening links in a new tab. We just want Firefox's Open Links in New Tab option to work everywhere.

GAAAAH - I just realized "Force all links to open in a new tab" is a Tab Mix Plus option, not Firefox. Never mind. I'll go bother the TBP folks.
