I just got a message while I was using Chrome that they will stop issuing updates for Snow Leopard in April 2016. I switched to Firefox in anticipation of this move, and figured out how to control cookies, etc and also discovered that Firefox is considerably faster on Snow Leopard than Chrome was. I was just wondering how long Firefox will issue updates compatible with Snow Leopard?

hi rich, i don't think that there are any plans to drop support for snow leopard by firefox. our current system requirements are here: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/44.0/system-requirements/

and there are even independent ports of firefox that work with old powerpc hardware...
