Had trouble with Eudora and switched to Thunderbird. Can I import my mailboxes from Euroda to Thunderbird ?

more options

Received a certificate error in Eudora in Sept. 2015. I found a very helpful Verizon tech support that fixed the problem. Received the same type of certificate error several weeks ago. Decided to change to Thunderbird, since Eudora is no longer supported. I took the POP and SMTP address information out of Eudora, but I can still review my emails. I created several special mailboxes within Eudora. Can I import these mailboxes and their contents to Thunderbird ? Also, I see there is an archive capability in Thunderbird. Can I move my Inbox and sent messages from Eudora to Thunderbird under ' archive ' ? Can I have ' sub ' mailboxes within the archive file ?

There's quite a long thread about this here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/988210 It looks like quite a tricky process but there are several links to follow.
